In 2018 I was shooting Olympic recurve and running my indoor training center.
John Wert and Demmer both talked to me about shooting barebow. I decided to give it a try and found the community to be addictive. My first indoor round was a 496 and I was so upset coming from Olympic and shooting 570+ scores. By 2020 I was shooting 540’s and wanted to share how the short journey from start to 540 occured and the knowledge acquired with the world.
It was around 2021 that I started focusing more on the coaching side of the sport. Before the end of 2022 not only did I manage to place top 10 qualifier at Lancaster but earn multiple medals at the US Open including a bronze in individual. The following years were dedicated to coaching eventually finishing my USA Archery Level 4 BNTS, producing over a dozen national and world record holding archers in barebow and Olympic as well as dozens of national champions.

Whether you say I can or I can’t, you’re correct. – Frank McDonough
